| Applications Development
The Applications Development Section
is broken into 5 units: Project
Management, Justice Link,
Programming, Quality Assurance, and
Technical Architecture.
Project Management Unit
The Project Management Unit is
responsible for oversight of all
active technology projects that
require coordination with or
staffing by the Bureau, regardless
of if a Bureau Project Manager is
assigned. The Unit also is
responsible for providing billable
Project Management services for
Department technology projects.
Justice Link Unit
The Justice Link Unit is
responsible for administration and
programming for the JLink message
switch. Justice Link is the
application that is used to give
criminal justice agencies access to
the Nevada Criminal Justice
Information System(NCJIS). The JLink message switch
provides statewide access to federal
and state files for criminal justice
agencies. The Unit is also
responsible for implementation and
maintenance of queries to other
states through the International
Justice and Public Safety Network (Nlets).
Programming Unit
The Applications Development
Programming Unit is responsible for
providing billable programming
services for Department technology
projects. Those positions allocated
to specific budget accounts work
exclusively on projects for those
budget accounts.
Quality Assurance Unit
The Applications Development
Quality Assurance Unit is
responsible for the Quality of all
applications/systems supported by
the Bureau.
Technical Architecture
The Applications Development
Technical Architecture Unit is
responsible for ensuring that all
applications developed by the Bureau
conform to a long term integrated
strategy and architecture.
